Thankful/Not Thankful #4

Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts. ~ Author Unknown

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am so thankful for my family today and am grateful to be able to spend this holiday with them. I have three older brothers. B is the oldest, calm, and a hardened straight-to-the-point kind of guy. He has been through a lot in his life, including losing his son - my sweet, beloved nephew - to SIDS, and has persevered. G is a hard on the outside, soft on the inside kind of guy. He uses the "tough love" approach, but will be the first to tear up when something bad happens. G2 is the youngest of my older brothers, and the one with whom I am closest. My two older brothers had moved out of the house by the time I was eight, so G2 and I grew close. He is independent and driven, and has a great sense of humor. We can laugh for hours at the stupidest things. My two oldest brothers are married and my sisters-in-law are unique and wonderful in their own way. We are blessed to have them as part of the family. My nieces - four of them - are so sweet and caring. They are each so beautiful, creative, and funny. I love them to pieces. I also have a special love for my nephew; he's very driven, athletic, and a total softy (although he'd never admit it). And my parents; I can't even begin to describe how wonderful they are and how much they have given to the family. My dad worked hard to provide for the family while my mom took care of the house and put up with the kids' shenanigans during the day. They gave their life for us and are still putting all of us first. They go out of their way to make us happy, going overboard at holidays and building us a new family cabin. I am so lucky to have parents like them. And my in-laws...I know so many people who complain about their in-laws - but mine: mother-, father-, and brother-in-law, are SO wonderful. I feel spoiled. And I also must mention my own little family: The Hubby and Diggidy Dog. I truly have much to be thankful for this holiday.

I certainly can't follow that with a bunch of complaining, could I? No "Not Thankful" today, folks. Have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving!

Peace, Love, and Stretchy Pants.
